Today, Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference in Fort Myers where he signed HB 233, a continuation of his focus on fighting the culture war and manufactured problems rather than offering solutions to the real issues facing Floridians.
Today, Governor Ron DeSantis held a roundtable in Sarasota to discuss property insurance legislation, SB 76, passed during the 2021 session and signed by the Governor. In response to this legislation, Progress Florida Executive Director Mark Ferrulo issued the following statement.
A leaked video shows Heritage Action for America’s Executive Director, Jessica Anderson, bragging to large donors about a coordinated effort to draft, lobby for and ultimately pass bills to make it harder to vote in battleground states across the country, including Florida. “We did it quickly and we did it quietly,” she said.

Less than a week ago, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order banning coronavirus vaccine passports in Florida. DeSantis said it was “completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccine to just simply be able to participate in normal society.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis recently convened a roundtable of handpicked “experts” to provide him with political cover for his failure of leadership during the pandemic that has so far infected more than 2 million Floridians and left more than 33,000 dead.

A group of everyday Floridians joined legislators from around the state today in countering Gov. Ron DeSantis’s State of the State address with the “People’s Response”.
