Women shouldn’t have to unnecessarily postpone access to an abortion for 24 hours. SB 724 has no basis in science, and in some parts of Florida, this could mean as much as 400 miles and eight hours of travel to get access to care.
This prepostrous bill needs to be stopped. Call key members of the Senate Health Policy Committee today and tell them to vote NO on SB 724.
We know burdensome state laws that require a mandatory delay before a woman can get an abortion have nothing to do with health benefits. Instead, they result in increased expenses, travel difficulties, and medical risks.
Decisions about whether – and when – to end a pregnancy must be left to a woman, her family, and her faith, with the counsel of her doctor. Please call right now so we can speak with one voice to oppose these bad bills that will make it more difficult for women to access health care.
