Progress Florida proudly endorsed two-time Middle Class Champion Rick Kriseman to be mayor of St. Petersburg. The primary election is tomorrow, Tuesday August 27th. Here's the email we sent to St. Pete residents this morning:
I’ll cut to the chase…it’s critical that you vote in tomorrow’s St. Petersburg's Primary Election, and when you do, I hope you‘ll vote for Rick Kriseman to be St. Pete’s next mayor.
Rick Kriseman has been fighting for St. Pete residents’ best interests from city hall to the state Capitol for well over a decade and we at Progress Florida couldn’t be more excited about the possibility of Rick Kriseman championing what’s best for St. Pete as its next mayor. Most recently, as a state representative representing a large swath of St. Pete, Rick Kriseman was a two-time winner of our “Middle Class Champion Award” with a 100% voting record on the issues that matter most to St. Pete citizens.
From improving our neighborhood schools to safeguarding our environment, from advocating for quality jobs and consumer protections to championing equality, Rick Kriseman will be the type of mayor that a great city like St. Pete needs and deserves.
On Tuesday, August 27th, Progress Florida asks you to vote for Rick Kriseman for Mayor of St. Petersburg.

Anyone who knows me personally knows how much of a cheerleader I am for my beloved hometown; my St. Pete buddies find it endearing and my Tampa pals probably find it annoying. Regardless, what St. Pete needs now more than ever is a cheerleader in the mayor’s office, one with the vision, work ethic and leadership skills to move St. Pete forward. That person is Rick Kriseman.
Yours for a great St. Petersburg,
Mark and the Progress Florida team
P.S. We know many of you have already voted by mail. Thank you for participating in the election and if this endorsement was not helpful to you because it was received after you mailed in your ballot, maybe it will be useful when you are filling in circles for the general election in November. Rick Kriseman needs to finish 1st or 2nd to make it to the general election so please share this email with friends and family who will be voting tomorrow, Primary Election Day, Tuesday August 27th.
