Sign our petition below to urge the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center to stop hiring lobbyists for Big Tobacco.
Dear Dr. William S. Dalton, Moffitt Cancer Center Director:
As concerned Floridians, we urge you to end the practice of hiring lobbyists that represent Big Tobacco in the Florida legislature. Moffitt Cancer Center is a crown jewel among Florida’s health care network. Unfortunately, the hiring of lobbyists who are also paid to promote the best interests of cigarette and cigar manufacturers jeopardizes both the reputation and the mission of the cancer center. Earlier in 2008, the Moffitt Cancer Center campus went 100% tobacco free. This should also be the year that the Moffitt Cancer Center payroll goes 100% tobacco lobbyist free.
